Our Mission
Renaissance Art and Science studio was founded by Artist Leslie Ouyang in 2024 with the mission to bring together artistic creativity and practical implementation to cultivate a dynamic community that discovers its potential and celebrates the passions in life through our engaging classes, workshops which were designed to inspire innovative thinking and a profound understanding of both ourselves and the world. Whenever you seek to enhance your art technique or escape from your daily life, our studio is the perfect retreat - a place to create your happy memory!
From the Founder
Welcome to my artistic world, where imagination meets expression and colors dance upon the canvas. Born in Shanghai (China), I started Eastern brush painting since childhood mostly self-taught till the whole teenage years. During college time, I started practicing western art like watercolor and the concept of three-dimensional art from the Eastern 2D world. In 1997, I was admitted to the Masters of Fine Art Degree Program at Dong Hua University in Shanghai majoring in Fashion Design and continued my art journey after I immigrated to California bay area since late 1990s. I worked as a digital artist / graphic designer in my earlier art career. In 2003 I received Master of Science Degree majoring in Software Engineering in Santa Clare (Silicon Valley). I worked in tech/science business management area for the past 20 years and I paint whenever I have time.
Since 2018, I found my interests have shifted to fine art. So I joined local galleries and venues, such as Blackhawk Gallery, Alameda County Fair, Bishop Ranch City Center and a few businesses. After 1-2 years of preparation, In 2024 I opened the Renaissance Art & Science art club my own venue, which I teach/organize classes/workshops to encourage others to find their hidden talents and passion in life. I've developed own programs which focus on human based happiness driven and self improvement. I've also coach people in need with my intuitive inner drive and multi culture life and career experience to solve their life needs in work/family/ business and feel the happiness in life.
We place a greater emphasis on discovering individual's strength for personal growth and long-term value cultivation, ensuring lifelong benefits for everyone. We also pay attention to the sparks of art in other fields, introducing interesting and popular topics. The ultimate value of art should contribute to our lifelong refinement and happiness! We believe that art is more than a skill; it is a way of life. Through our courses, students develop a keen eye for beauty, finding joy and passion in life.
As an evolving artist, influenced by both eastern and western cultures, I experiment with different techniques and push the boundaries of my creativity. I always found joy in watercolor which reminds me of my eastern root in brush painting, a feeling of home and happiness, while nearly three decades of American life allows my creativities to grow beyond the boundaries.
